St Martin’s 6.00pm Evening Service:

Is it OK for me to come along?

Yes!  It really is!  We would love you to join us, whatever you do or don’t believe.  There’s no pressure to do or say anything you’d rather not, and you’ll be made very welcome.

How can I find St Martin’s church building?

St Martin’s Church Building is on the corner of Audley Road and Crown Bank in Talke.  If you’re coming by car, try using the postcode ST7 1PU.

Where’s a good place to park?

If you struggle to walk, please feel free to use the parking spaces by the church’s hall's front doors on Crown Bank (although you may be blocked in by others at the service).  Otherwise, there’s plenty of on-street parking around, but please be considerate to our neighbours if you’re parking on Crown Bank.

What should I expect in the service?

The 6.00pm service is friendly, relaxed, and informal.  There’s a play area with toys at the back of church for young children.  We sing a mixture of traditional hymns and more modern songs together and someone leads us in prayer.  We listen to the Bible read and preached, and, for those who would like to, there’s a chance to join in saying a statement of faith together.  The service normally lasts about an hour.

Do I need to wear anything special?

Definitely not.  Some people prefer to dress smartly for church, others prefer to be more relaxed, so please wear whatever you feel comfortable in.

Will there be a collection?

No – there’s no charge for coming to church!  There’s a collection plate on the way in for regulars who would like to give in that way, but we don’t want visitors or guests to feel under obligation to give.

Will there be Holy Communion?

We aim to share Holy Communion together once a month (normally the second Sunday of the month).  Do check the latest notice sheet for details.  If you’re trusting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, please feel free to join us in taking bread and wine.  If you’re not sure what you believe, you’re welcome just to watch from where you’re sitting, or to keep your hands by your side as you come forward, and someone will pray for you.
